Assembly Republican Leader Blakeslee names Berryhill, Conway, Knight & Nestande as Whips

The following Republican Assembly Members were named today as Republican Whips:

Ø Assemblyman Tom Berryhill, R-Modesto

A fourth-generation farmer and vice-chair of the Legislature’s bipartisan Rural Caucus, Berryhill has earned a well-deserved reputation at the State Capitol as a problem solver who brings people together to get things done.

Ø Assemblywoman Connie Conway, R-Tulare

A past Member of the Tulare County Board of Supervisors for eight years, and past president of the California State Association of Counties, Assemblywoman Conway is known as a fierce advocate for her Central Valley constituents.

Ø Assemblyman Steve Knight, R-Palmdale

Knight previously was an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department and a member of the Palmdale City Council, where he led the fight against tax increases and wasteful government spending.

Ø Assemblyman Brian Nestande, R-Palm Desert

A former chief of staff to Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack and the past owner of his own successful political affairs and government relations firm, Nestande is known in Sacramento as a bipartisan consensus builder.
