Jan. 17, 2012: Furutani lost to Joe Buscaino in the 15th Los Angeles City Council district general election.

Nov. 10, 2011: Furutani placed second to Joe Buscaino in the primary race for the 15th Los Angeles City Council district race. Furtuani will face Buscaino in the Jan. 17, 2012, runoff election.

July 2011: Furutani announced he would run to replace Janice Hahn in the 15th district of Los Angeles City Council.

December 11, 2007: Furutani won the Special election primary to fill the AD 55 seat, vacated by Laura Richardson who went to Congress. Because Furutani didn't get more than 50% of the vote in the Primary, he has to face a February General Election against two minor-party candidates.
