Dec 2011: Announced he would step down as Sen Minority leader. He was succeeded by Sen. Bob Huff.

Jan. 13, 2010: Dutton elected Senate minority leader to succeed Dennis Hollingsworth. Dutton will assume role sometime after the 2010-11 budget is passed.

Jan. 8, 2010 Dutton named vice chair of the Senate Energy, Utilities and Communications Committee.
