Sept. 8, 2009: OC Weekly reported Barsuglia as the woman Assemblymember Michael D. Duvall referred to when he whispered details of an affair to another committee member. The conversation was recorded in a July 8, 2009, hearing of the Assembly Appropriations Committee. At the time Duvall served as vice-chair of the Assembly Utilities and Commerce Committee.
April 2009 - present: Barsuglia is a lobbyist for Sempra Energy.
June 2004 - March 2009: Barsuglia was director of government affairs for the California Retailers Association.
Previously:
Barsuglia acted as legal and legislative consultant to Democratic members of the California legislature.
Barsuglia was an employment law attorney with the law firm of Booth & Finch in Sacramento.
Barsuglia worked as legislative aide to then-Assemblyman Charles Poochigian and to the Assembly Appropriations Committee.
While attending college, Barsuglia worked as a speechwriter for Governor Pete Wilson’s Office of Constituent Affairs.
Barsuglia graduated cum laude from California State University, Sacramento with a bachelor of arts degree combining a double major in political science and persuasive communications. She graduated with honors from University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law with a Juris Doctor.
