April 8, 2009: Schroeder served recall papers to Assemblymember Anthony Adams saying, "On behalf of the taxpayers of the 59th District, let the games begin." Schroeder is co-chair of the campaign to recall because of his Feb. 2009 state budget vote to increase taxes.

Schroeder is a former chair of the California Republican Party.

Schroeder was a political aide to Orange County Sheriff Mike Carona.

Schroeder was senior advisor, along with Rob Stutzman, to Mitt Romney's California "Romney for President" campaign.

From Mitt Romney's press release:
"[Schroeder] was the Treasurer, Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the California Republican Party. He was also the National Vice-Chairman of the New Majority Council for the Republican National Committee. He served as State Co-Chair for Bush for President in 1992, Dole for President in 1996, and Bush for President in 2000 and has advised over 40 campaigns. He most recently served as Political Director in Steve Poizner's campaign for Insurance Commissioner."
