Chong is Vice President, Government Affairs, for Comcast.

Dec. 9, 2009 Chong was denied another term on the Public Utilities Commission (that would have lasted through 2014) and will have to leave the commission at the end of 2009. Senate Leader Darrell Steinberg declined to schedule her confirmation hearing citing that she too-often voted with the telecommunications industry. Chong had been severely criticized by consumer groups.
