Green is the community and government relations manager for Kaiser Permanente South Bay.

March 21, 2013: Green resigned her seat on the Santa Clara County Board of Education after uncertainties about her eligibility based on where she lives. Legal opinions differed over whether the county school board properly defined the boundaries of the East San Jose area known as Trustee Area 6, which Green was appointed to represent in October. Oct. 18, 2012: Green was appointed to represent Area 6 on the Santa Clara County Board of Education. Green was selected among five candidates by members of the board to assume a seat made vacant in August. She will serve until the term of office of the seat expires in November 2014. The seat was previously held by Craig Mann, who resigned in August to take a teaching job in the county. Area 6 includes the Alum Rock, Mount Pleasant and Franklin-McKinley school districts, as well as the corresponding portion of East Side Union High School District and a small portion of San Jose Unified School District. March 27, 2012, 2 a.m.: Green was a passenger in the car of Assemblymember Roger Hernandez (D-West Covina) when he was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. In August 2012 a jury acquitted Hernandez on one count of drunk driving but deadlocked on a separate charge of driving with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08, just above the legal limit. A judge on September 18, 2012, dismissed a charge that state Assemblyman Roger Hernandez (D-West Covina) drove a car with a blood-alcohol level over the legal limit, after prosecutors decided not to seek a retrial. 2011: Green was elected to the statewide board of directors for the California Latino School Boards Association.

November 2010: Green won a seat on the Alum Rock Union School District Board of Trustees.
