June 2013: McLear is a partner in the newly formed lobbying and public affairs consulting firm Redwood Pacific Public Affairs.

2012: McLear is spokesperson for California Pension Reform.

2012: McLear and partner Josh Ginsberg joined Think Big Sacramento, a Sacramento-area committee working to guide development of a new arena for the NBA's Sacramento Kings. http://thinkbigsacramento.com/

May 2011: McLear launched, with Josh Ginsberg, the Ginsberg McLear Group, a new public affairs and strategic consulting firm. The firm is affiliated with Goddard Claussen West. http://thegmgroup.com/

Feb. 2, 2007 - 2010: Press secretary for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Previously:

-- McLear was a regional press secretary for the Republican National Committee, where he was a spokesperson for media outlets in Ohio, Pennsylvania and the U.S. Northeast.

-- McLear served as assistant site manager of media logistics and planning for the 2005 Presidential Inaugural Committee

-- McLear was communications director for the 2004 Bush-Cheney Campaign in Ohio.

-- McLear served Ohio Governor Bob Taft as a legislative liaison, assistant press secretary and communications assistant.

McLear earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the Ohio State University.
