Sept. 14, 2009: Miller was named chairman of the Finance Committee in the California Republican Party. http://www.cagop.org/
Sept. 9, 2009: After Speaker Karen Bass announced that the Assembly ethics committee would investigate an alleged sex scandal involving then-Assemblymember Michael D. Duvall, Speaker Bass removed Miller from that committee. Miller was on the receiving end of the July 8, 2009, conversation with Duvall, who boasted of his sexual exploits. Assemblymember Nathan Fletcher (R-San Diego) replaced Miller on the ethics committee. Miller insists that he "wasn't paying attention" to Duvall during the conversation. The OC Register reported speculation that Miller may have leaked the recording with state GOP official and blogger Jon Fleischman, who is "not friendly" with Duvall.

Sept. 8, 2009: KCAL/KCBS television broke a story about a sexual affair between Assemblymember Michael Duvall and a lobbyist. The affair was revealed in recorded video from a July 8, 2009, hearing of the Assembly Appropriations Committee. In the video Duvall is seen and heard whispering to another committee member (later identified as Assemblymember Miller) about an affair.
May 18, 2009: A group calling themselves Taxpayers United to Recall Jeff Miller served Miller with a Notice of Intention to Circulate a Recall Petition. The group formed to after Miller and other Assemblymembers were "complicit in the effort raise state taxes" and "made back-room deals in the State Legislature to pass the largest tax increase in the history of any state in this country’s existence." http://www.recallmiller.com/
June 3, 2008: Miller won the Republican primary election in Assembly District 71, defeating Neil Blais 58%-42%.
Miller is Chairman of the Riverside County Republican Party.
Miller is owner of an insurance company.
