March 2010: Termed out Assemblyman Roger Niello endorsed Pugno for the June Primary to fill AD 5.

Pugno is the chief attorney for, the leading group behind 2008's Proposition 8 campaign to ban gay marriage.

June 2009: Pugno filed to run in contest for 5th Assembly District. Pugno's campaign website:

Before starting his own firm , Pugno practiced law with a downtown Sacramento law firm and served as an assistant city attorney for several Sacramento-area cities.

2000: Served as the chief attorney for the committee in favor of Proposition 22, sponsored by Knight, which defined marriage as being only between a man and a woman.

1995: At the age of 22, Pugno worked for Assemblyman Pete Knight.
