February 2010: Garcia dropped her 2010 bid for the Republican nomination in the 40th Senate District.

Dec. 17, 2009 Garcia and George Plescia were confirmed by the state Senate to serve on the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board. The Senate floor vote was unanimous, 31-0.

February 9, 2009: Announced that she would not seek election to Senate District 40 in 2010.
