Oct. 28, 2009: Black withdrew from race for Assembly District 70, citing fundraising concerns.

Republican State Assembly Candidate Shawn Black and Orange County Republican liaisons hosted a Town Hall meeting and special reception on Saturday, August 8, at the Silver Dream Movie Factory Studio in Laguna Niguel. Shawn discussed current issues regarding Homeland Security, Sacramento Legislation and Grassroots Involvement to an enthusiastic crowd of over 100 concerned Orange County conservatives.

Shawn also introduced Desare` Ferraro, Orange County’s first female campaign manager for a GOP candidate. Recognized as one of the most ambitious volunteer leaders within the OC Republican Party, Desare` has served on various Women-Federated committees, as well as, effortlessly engaged the assistance of Republican women in championing conservative causes. A strategist at heart, Desare` says her “goal is to assist candidate Black with her time, energy and skills so as to reach the maximum potential for his campaign while seeking sterling connections within her scope of influence.” Together, this dynamic duo endeavors to promote a spirit of cohesiveness within the GOP, and with renewed enthusiasm, rekindle the vitality of the Republican Party.
