2011: Khanna is raising funds at an impressive rate for his planned 2014 Democratic campaign in the newly redrawn 15th Congressional District. Khanna says he expects 80-year-old incumbent Pete Stark to retire in 2013. Source:

August 2009: Khanna was appointed by President Barack Obama as deputy assistant secretary for domestic operations of the United States and Foreign Commercial Service, International Trade Administration. Among his duties will be to lead trade missions to countries like India and China.
